Empiricism is not self-validating
The claim that “only empirical evidence counts as real evidence” cannot itself be proven empirically. You cannot observe, measure, weigh, or test that rule in a laboratory.
It is a philosophical assumption smuggled in before the experiment even begins. If evidence is restricted to only what can be observed, tested, repeated, and measured, then don’t act surprised when everything outside that narrow box disappears. This is not an earnest search for truth, it is simply begging the question.
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

If your evidential standard is a metal detector, is it any wonder you will “prove” that wood, water, love, justice, logic, meaning, and purpose do not exist?
And this is why empiricism is wholly insufficient as a worldview. It cannot empirically prove logic, yet it depends on logic. It cannot empirically prove mathematics, yet science is built on mathematics. It cannot empirically prove moral truths, so it bites the bullet and says morality is subjective (meaning it is basically made up). It cannot empirically prove personal consciousness, first-person experience, meaning, beauty, intentionality, or the reliability of reason itself, yet gets offended when people point out that it lacks explanatory power.
To illustrate how vacuous it is as a total worldview: it describes brain activity when someone sees a loved one, but cannot explain why someone loves. It describes the biology of forming tears, but cannot explain why people grieve. It can describe body parts of humans, but cannot explain why a person has worth.
So treating empiricism as the only path to truth is not just wrong, it is completely absurd. Empiricism cannot explain the totality of reality. It mutilates reality until only empirical things remain, then mistakes those fragments for reality itself.
Without Lies, Atheism Dies
The typical atheist demands empirical evidence for God when Scripture already says God is Spirit, not matter or material substance:
[24] God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
— John 4:24
So when someone demands material evidence for God, then accuses Christianity of having no material evidence for God, he has committed a category error. Christianity does not claim that God is a material substance inside the universe.
Using the same fallacious reasoning, one would also have to conclude that logic, mathematics, love, law, and morality do not exist, since none of these are material objects that can be empirically tested.
As a worldview meant to explain the totality of reality, empiricism explains far too little. It is intellectually bankrupt when treated as ultimate truth. Strong empiricism cannot be true as a complete worldview. Second only to solipsism, it is a dead-end philosophy wearing a lab coat.
